Andrew McCarthy was at the top of his game when he played young mannequin maker Jonathan Switcher in 1987. Although he gets fired for being too meticulous with his creations, he of course manages to get a job as a window dresser that brings him back together with the one mannequin that made him "feel like an artist." Then (spoiler alert)... she comes to life! But only he can see her! Which is really awkward when he's caught kissing her in the bathroom! Look, it's no Pretty in Pink, but the movie works as long as you don't expect too much.

McCarthy played Brian in 2011's The Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best (try saying that 10 times fast), that premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. His travel memoir, The Longest Way Home: One Man’s Quest for the Courage to Settle Down, was published by Simon & Schuster in 2012. He's also been directing episodes of TV shows like White Collar, The Carrie Diaries and Orange is the New Black. No wonder he's smiling. Life is good.

Roxie Shield, played by the lovely Carole Davis, is Jonathan's girlfriend. She thinks her man has lost his marbles. Why? Because he thinks one of the mannequins is alive. Considering that no one but Jonathan is able to see the title character as a living being, it's not an unreasonable assumption.

Ms. Davis has had guest appearances on numerous TV series, including a memorable turn as the awesomely named Amalita Amalfi on Sex and the City. You can watch a collection of Carole clips on YouTube. Songwriter Diane Warren has been churning out big-time hits for a long time. Diane Warren has written basically every power ballad from every movie ever. That statement is less of an exaggeration that it should be. There's "How Do I Live" from Con Air. When Jonathan Switcher saves the life of Claire Timkin (played by the late Estelle Getty), she gives him a job at the Prince & Company department store—the same store where Jonathan's favorite mannequin is in the window. You remember, the one that comes to life? But only he can see her? C'mon, admit it. The '80s were fun.

Estelle Getty moved on from Mannequin to other films, including Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot opposite Sylvester Stallone (1992) and Stuart Little (1999). She is best known for playing the tough-talking, straight-shooting Sophia Petrillo on The Golden Girls. After a long career, Ms. Getty died in 2008.

Every movie has to have a villain, right? Captain Felix Maxwell, played by G.W. Bailey, is that guy in Mannequin. You see, Felix is in charge of security at the Prince & Company department store, and he has no time for foolishness. Especially not from some nut job who thinks he's dating one of the mannequins.

The talented Mr. Bailey worked plenty before and after Mannequin. Memorable roles include Captain Thaddeus Harris in several Police Academy films; you can see some of his best moments in this YouTube collection. Recently, he played Lieutenant Provenza on TNT's The Closer and has reprised the role for the spin-off Major Crimes.

Remember when we said that every movie needs a villain? Mannequin has two. Maxwell takes his marching orders from one Mr. Richards, played with sublime sliminess by the superb James Spader. Look at that hair. And those glasses! We've said it before, but allow us to say it again—the '80s were fun. Seriously, how funny are those glasses?

Not what we'd call a catch. But then you get to travel through time and become a department store mannequin who comes to life in the presence of Andrew McCarthy. Kim, we know it sounds silly, but it'll work. Trust us.

Kim Cattrall made plenty of appearances on screens large and small before and after Mannequin and was doing just fine when she landed the role of Samantha Jones on Sex and the City. That part, however, turned the actress into an icon and forever established her as an intelligent object of desire for men of every age. Her most recent big-screen role was in Meet Monica Velour. As far as we're concerned, she should be able to do whatever she wants to.

Meshach Taylor's flamboyant portrayal of designer Hollywood Montrose wouldn't win any GLAAD awards for positive portrayals of gay men. His sunglasses, however, would win something. Craziest Sunglasses, perhaps. Hollywood does get to play hose-wielding hero in this scene, loudly proclaiming "This is what being a man is all about!" and the unsubtle "Mine is bigger than yours is!" We'll let that last line speak for itself.
