The Bronx-born Roberts was working as a dance teacher when she was cast as the last of the Angels (1980). She was only on the show for one year, which was plenty of time to kick some serious butt.

Tanya Roberts -- Update

Roberts was a major sex symbol in the '80s; her film roles included Kiri in The Beastmaster (1982), the title role in Sheena: Queen of the Jungle (1984), and Bond girl Stacy Sutton in A View To A Kill (1985). She acquired a new generation of fans when she was cast as Midge Pinciotti on That '70s Show (1998-2006).

Shelley Hack (Tiffany Welles)

Shelley Hack was "kinda young, kinda now" as the lovely lady in this classic and catchy Charlie Perfume commercial (1976). Then she was one of Charlie's Angels! Coincidence? Yeah, probably.

Shelley Hack -- Update

After her one-year term with the Townsend Agency, Hack starred in Martin Scorsese's The King of Comedy (1983), and the short-lived TV series Cutter to Houston (1983) alongside a young Alec Baldwin. In 1997 she became a media consultant, focusing mostly on developing countries. Hack also works as a producer.

Kate Jackson (Sabrina Duncan)

Jackson was already a seasoned veteran of the small screen when she joined the Townsend Detective Agency, having played Daphne Harridge on Dark Shadows (1970-1971), a slew of TV movies including Satan's School for Girls (1973), and another Spelling show, The Rookies (1972-1976). In fact, it was Jackson who suggested that Spelling change the series' title from Alley Cats to Charlie's Angels. Guess she really was "the smart Angel."

Kate Jackson -- Update

Jackson had another long-running hit with Scarecrow and Mrs. King (1983-1987), and numerous TV movie roles. She will publish a memoir, appropriately titled The Smart One, in 2015.

John Forsythe (Charles Townsend)

"Once upon a time there were three little girls who went to the police academy." Thus spake John Forsythe, as the titular Charlie, at the beginning of every episode of Angels. Even though he never actually appeared onscreen, fans were quite familiar with his distinguished visage -- he started acting in 1943.

John Forsythe -- Update

Forsythe had even more success as the star of Dynasty (1981-1989), another Aaron Spelling production. He voiced Charlie for both big-screen Angels features (2000, 2003). Forsythe died in 2010.

Jaclyn Smith (Kelly Garrett)

Smith is the only Angel to appear in every episode of the original series. Before hooking up with Charlie and his gals, she appeared on '70s shows The Partridge Family and McCloud, as well as commercials, like this one for Wella Balsam Shampoo.

Jaclyn Smith -- Update

Smith has continued to act since Angels wrapped in 1981. She has also found tremendous success as a businesswoman, lending her name and impeccable style to numerous products.

Farrah Fawcett (Jill Munroe)

Fawcett had quite a nice career in the '70s; her famous poster was on the bedroom wall of every boy in America. She is probably the most recognizable of the original Angels, which is impressive when you remember that she quit the show after the first season. She did return for a few guest appearances.

Farrah Fawcett -- Update

Fawcett quickly proved that she was more than just a pretty face topped by fabulous hair. In 1983, she replaced Susan Sarandon in the off-Broadway show Extremities, playing a woman who fights back against a rapist, reprising the role on the big screen in 1986 (see a not safe for work clip of Fawcett zapping her attacker with bug spray here). Other acclaimed dramatic work includes The Burning Bed (1984). Fawcett died in 2009.

David Doyle (John Bosley)

Doyle had been working steadily before landing the plum role of the beleaguered Bosley, who always had his hands full with the Angels. Here he is keeping his cool while Sabrina and Kelly inform him that they do not want Jill's little sister on the team. We should all have such problems at work.

David Doyle -- Update

Post-Angels, Doyle visited The Love Boat and Fantasy Island, and voiced Grandpa Lou Pickles on Rugrats. He passed away in 1997.

Cheryl Ladd (Kris Munroe)

The second-season Angel was a Pussycat first, showcasing her singing as Melody Valentine on the animated Josie and the Pussycats. She also co-starred with Kate Jackson in Satan's School for Girls (1973), and played stunning movie star Cindy Shea on an episode of Happy Days (1974). Can you say type-casting?

Ladd had recurring roles on One West Waikiki (1994-1996) and Las Vegas (2003-2008) after Angels. She's starred in the TV movie Love's Everlasting Courage and had guest roles on Chuck and NCIS.
