Now: Michael J. Fox at the Avengers Premiere, 2012
As if following in Alex’s footsteps, Mike went on to work at the mayor’s office as Michael Flaherty on
Spin City—which makes sense since the role was created for him by
Family Ties alum/creator Gary David Goldberg—earning Mike another three Golden Globes and an Emmy. Keeping it in the family even more, Mike married his former
Family Ties girlfriend Tracy Pollan, with whom he now has four children. Never one to be kept in a box, Mike has lent his stellar comedic timing and killer dramatic chops to films like the
Back to the Future trilogy,
Doc Hollywood, For Love or Money, Mars Attacks!, and the voice of Stuart in the
Stuart Little trilogy as well as shows like
Boston Legal, Scrubs, The Good Wife, and
Rescue Me (which earned him yet another Emmy). In addition to his on-screen talents, he is also a best-selling author of
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Future, Always Looking Up: The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist, and
Lucky Man and is currently focusing on Parkinson's awareness and research to find a cure. For more information, check out
the Michael J. Fox Foundation. We’re pulling for you, Mike!
