Looking Back
HOT GALLERY: As Steve Carell Turns 50, Snakkle Looks Back at His life and Career
From The Office to Anchorman and beyond, Steve Carell is one funny guy. But more than that—he often plays (and has a reputation for actually being) Mr. Nice Guy. So is he? “I don’t really think I’m that nice,” Carell recently said as a guest on Conan. “I think I’m probably just a sociopath who understands that niceness sells.” Um, sorry—we’re not buying it, Steve. As the actor turns 50, we take a look back at all he’s achieved thus far. We can’t wait to see what comes next! By Nina Hämmerling Smith

Carell grew up in Acton, MA, with three older brothers. He was raised Catholic and attended the private Middlesex School, where he was the goalie on his ice hockey team (check him out showing off his moves on The Dana Carvey Show). Some of his earliest jobs were in the produce department of a supermarket (“I was pretty much bad at every aspect of the job”) and as a telemarketer selling wine (“You say things like ‘oaky’ a lot”).

X-Men Part 1 was good and part 2 was superb. Part 3 was the pits. Too many carhacters, silly payoffs to expected showdowns (iceman vs Pyro), corny dialogue e.g “X-Men together, forever”. This trailer looks very classy and cool. Almost James Bond like. I have to keep reminding myself that is it a reboot not a prequel and everyone is one the same side .for now.
