Now: Chicago native Hunt has done everything but lay low since Jerry Maguire. She has starred in her own sitcom (The Bonnie Hunt Show), hosted a daytime talk show, voiced characters in multiple Pixar films (including the Cars and Toy Story franchises), and written and directed films. And she always makes time for her beloved Chicago Cubs, even singing during the seventh-inning stretch.

Cuba Gooding Jr. as Rod Tidwell

Then: As semi-washed-up and difficult-to-work-with football player Rod Tidwell, Cuba Gooding Jr. put on an Academy Award-winning performance. And also proved that he has some serious dance moves.

Now: Gooding has worked consistently since Jerry Maguire, starring in emotional films such as Radio and Men of Honor and dramas such as American Gangster alongside Denzel Washington. He’s wrapped up filming on two movies scheduled to be released in 2012, and we’re guessing we’ll see him for many years to come.

Jay Mohr as Bob Sugar

Then: Comedian Mohr gave a great performance as slimy fellow agent Bob Sugar, locking himself in a battle against Maguire for a young college football star.

Now: New Jersey native Mohr has done everything but slow down! He’s continued acting in films and doing stand-up and hosting gigs, and married actress Nikki Cox. Audiences may be most familiar with this father of two from his work in television. He’s voiced characters on Family Guy and starred in shows such as Ghost Whisperer and Gary Unmarried and can currently be seen on the hit Suburgatory.

Jerry O’Connell as Frank Cushman

Then: The former child actor (remember him in Stand by Me?) starred as the hot commodity football star Frank Cushman (a.k.a. Cush). Cush appeared to not have much in the intellect department, but that was all a ruse, as he played Jerry and Sugar in an agent war—with Sugar eventually winning.

Jerry O’Connell—Now

Now: O’Connell has also continued to work in both movies and TV, most recently having recurring roles on the series Las Vegas, Crossing Jordan, and The Defenders. He’s been married to actress and former supermodel Rebecca Romijn since 2007 and the couple is raising twin girls.

Jonathan Lipnicki as Ray Boyd

Then: There may be no cuter movie character than Lipnicki’s Ray Boyd, a supersmart and precocious son of a single mother. Lipnicki played the role with ease and charm, luring Jerry into his mother’s life (in good and bad ways). Because of him, I bet none of us will forget how much the human head weighs or that dogs and bees can smell fear.

Now: Lipnicki followed his role in Jerry Maguire with some family-friendly films and TV series, but then left the demanding world of Hollywood for a few years. Although he’s easing his way back into TV with roles on Monk and in movies (he’s recently wrapped production on two projects), Lipnicki’s current love seems to be mixed martial arts. We can’t wait to see what he does next!

Kelly Preston as Avery Bishop

Then: Preston was great as the icy Avery Bishop, former fiancée of Jerry. She famously dumped him, paving the way for his relationship with Dorothy.

She was recently seen as Pam Abramoff in Casino Jack alongside Kevin Spacey and is currently costarring as Victoria Gotti in Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father.

Then: King was powerful as Marcee Tidwell, a strong wife and negotiator who looked out for her family first and foremost.

King can currently be seen on Southland as Detective Lydia Adams.

Renee Zellweger as Dorothy Boyd

Then: Although Zellweger had been acting for several years, her performance as Dorothy Boyd is often considered her breakout role. Dorothy gave up all security for herself and her son by following a dream—and a man—when Jerry walks out of the agency. But in the end, she really does complete him.
