Howie Long and his son Chris seemingly have it all: Hollywood good looks, intelligence, massive strength and the unbelievable ability to move cat-like on the field as the best father/son defensive ends ever to play in the NFL. Chris became the second son of a Hall of Famer to be drafted in the first round of the NFL draft (Kellen Winslow II was the first) when he was chosen by the St. Louis Rams as the second overall pick in 2008.

Although Calvin Hill and his son Grant became professionals in different sports, they have one thing in common: Calvin was the 1969 NFL Rookie of the Year with the Dallas Cowboys, and 26 years later, Grant was the 1995 NBA Rookie of the Year with the Detroit Pistons (an award he shared with Jason Kidd). Oh yeah, and they also share those groovin' mustaches!

Yes, the Ripken "chin" is unmistakable in these photos of Cal Ripken, Sr. and Cal Ripken, Jr. What is also unmistakable is the incredible impact they had on the Baltimore Orioles organization. The father and son spent a combined 57 years in the Orioles organization. Cal Sr. was a player, scout, coach and manager for the team. Cal Jr. played 21 seasons for the team and will go down as one of the greatest players to lace up the cleats.

Thanks to their ubiquitous advertising campaigns, even non-NFL fans should be able to pick out Peyton Manning and his brother Eli, and then deduce that the other guy is their dad. Archie Manning sired not one but two NFL superstars—both Peyton and Eli are Super Bowl MVPs—and Archie was a QB himself for the Saints, although it was during a period when they weren't very good. When it comes to father and son quarterbacks, the Manning family are certified All-Stars.

Cecil Fielder, the father, had a solid Major League Baseball Career, including a World Series win with the 1996 New York Yankees. His son Prince Fielder has been with the Milwaukee Brewers for his entire career, which began in 2005. Sadly, father and son, both three time All-Stars, are currently estranged. Here they are in happier times, when Fielder and his not-so-little boy Prince did a McDonald's commercial together.

Major League Baseball player and manager Bob Boone, son of Major League Baseball player Ray Boone, begat both Bret Boone and Aaron Boone, both of whom became professional baseball players. Why should we only show a picture of Aaron? No disrespect to Bret (or Ray, who is no longer with us), but Aaron Boone became part of New York Yankees baseball history when he shocked the Boston Red Sox with a walk off home run in Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS. Bret Boone was even in the broadcast booth when his brother blasted the ball out of the park.

He also sired David Bell, who not only played Major League Baseball like his dad, he managed to hit for the cycle in 2004—just like his grandfather, Gus Bell. Genetics, people. They're important.
