Fred Savage (Kevin Arnold)

Then: As Kevin, Savage captured the innocence and promise of an idyllic suburban youth. He was a good red-blooded American preteen who loved sports and the girl next door, Winnie Cooper. And because the show was narrated by the adult Kevin (the voice of Daniel Stern), he also seemed wise beyond his years.

Now: In addition to playing Number Three, a.k.a. the Mole, in Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002), Savage has voiced roles on kids’ shows, including Generator Rex, Kim Possible, and Oswald. In recent years he's focused his talent behind the camera, producing and directing numerous episodes of decidedly grown-up fare like It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Party Down.

Dan Lauria (Jack Arnold)

Then: Kevin's dad was a product of an older time, a former Marine and Korean War veteran whose white-collar job as a middle manager usually left him grumpy (at least until he'd had that first cocktail). He was a traditional guy who believed that supporting his family meant keeping them in line (and being there for them when they needed him most).

Dan Lauria (Jack Arnold)

Now: Lauria has made guest appearances on TV shows including Army Wives, JAG, Ed, How I Met Your Mother, and Nurse Jackie. Most recently he had a memorable run as Vince Lombardi in the Broadway show Lombardi and appeared in several NFL pieces, including this pregame pep talk for the Packers (who went on to win the Super Bowl).

Jason Hervey (Wayne Arnold)

Then: Wayne was the ultimate obnoxious, swaggering, bullying older brother. He was constantly whaling on Kevin and took every opportunity to tease him mercilessly. A young Juliette Lewis played Wayne's high school girlfriend Delores.

Now: Though Hervey has appeared onscreen (several times as himself), he now does most of his work behind the scenes. After doing PR for a health-care company and producing wrestling specials, he focused on reality-TV shows, including Scott Baio Is 45… and Single. One of his latest endeavors is coproducing a reality series with Entourage star Jeremy Piven about glassblowers in New Orleans. No, really.

Olivia d'Abo (Karen Arnold)

Then: More than any other character, Karen represented the changing tide of the '60s. Her progressive hippie ideals kept her in constant conflict with patriarch Jack Arnold, leading to some heart-wrenching family rifts, though as the series ended, Karen had settled down with her college boyfriend Michael (David Schwimmer).

Olivia d'Abo (Karen Arnold)

Now: The British beauty had a recurring role as seductive psychopath Nicole Wallace on Law & Order: Criminal Intent and has loaned her voice to Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Justice League. She also appeared on Broadway in the Nathan Lane-Matthew Broderick production of The Odd Couple and has released an album.

Alley Mills (Norma Arnold)

Then: Whereas Kevin's father could be cold and distant, Norma was the quintessential loving housewife and mother. In the course of the series, she became restless and yearned for a life outside of the home, returning to school and getting a job.

Now: Mills had numerous guest appearances on shows like Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman; Yes, Dear; and Popular before joining the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful.

Josh Saviano (Paul Pfeiffer)

Then: Paul was Kevin's best friend, a bespectacled nerd with numerous allergies and a studious attitude. He eventually went on to study law at Harvard. Check out his excellent Spock impression in Kevin's Star Trek dream!

Josh Saviano (Paul Pfeiffer)

Now: There's a persistent urban myth that Saviano grew up to become Marilyn Manson, but the real Manson (Brian Warner) would beg to differ. In fact, Saviano left entertainment altogether, earned a B.A. from Yale (rather than Harvard), attended law school in New York, and is now an attorney handling mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property issues.

Danica McKellar (Winnie Cooper)

Then: Winnie was the girl next door, then Kevin's crush, then his girlfriend. By the end of the first episode, the two kissed, though it would take a while for them to actually start dating. And then break up. But still pine after each other.... Like the ideals of the '60s, you wanted them to work out, but it just never seemed to quite happen.

Danica McKellar (Winnie Cooper)

Now: McKellar went on to appear in a number of series, including The West Wing. She also attended UCLA, where she majored in mathematics (she helped write a proof that is now known as the Chayes-McKellar-Winn theorem). She's written three New York Times best-selling books that make math cool for middle school girls: Math Doesn't Suck, Kiss My Math, and Hot X: Algebra Exposed.
