Fourth Doctor (1974 – 1981): Tom Baker
Before stepping into the Tardis: Before his seven-year turn as the
Doctor, Baker toed the line between genre actor and classical trained
thesp, with roles ranging from Nicholas and Alexandra (for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe) and The Canterbury Tales to The Vault of Horror and The Golden Voyage of Sinbad.
After his stint as Time Lord: After playing the Doctor, Baker went on to play another iconic role: Sherlock Holmes in The Hound of the Baskervilles.
