Remember that movie dictionary we mentioned earlier, the one that doesn’t exist but should? Under “screwup,” you’d find Larry Buckman, played by Tom Hulce. Hulce, who received an Oscar nomination for playing the title role in Amadeus (1984), is so good in Parenthood that he makes you feel bad for his character at times. Not all the time. But sometimes.
