Snakkle Exclusive! Catching Up with the Original Cast of Parenthood
The 1989 film Parenthood, directed by Ron Howard and written by the incomparable team of Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel, was well-received and spawned two television series, one of which will soon begin a fourth season on NBC. The original film was an emotional roller coaster that captured what having kids is actually like, which is, well, a roller coaster ride. (It's in the movie, go watch it again.) What have the original cast members been up to? Snakkle got a bunch of the actors together to find out, and we've got the exclusive photos to prove it! By Brett Singer

Steve Martin in Parenthood (1989)
Gil Buckman was a role that allowed Steve Martin to be the Steve we all know and love (because to know Steve is to love him) and also to show that he can handle dramatic roles. As the beleaguered dad Gil, Martin is certainly funny, but he can shift into seriousness, as shown in this scene where Kevin loses his retainer.
