Oprah Winfrey—Today
After graduating from college, Winfrey became the first African-American woman and youngest person ever to anchor the TV news at WTVF-TV in Nashville. In 1984, she moved to Chicago to host a morning talk show which was soon renamed The Oprah Winfrey Show. Nationally syndicated in 1986, Oprah took over ownership of the program through her company Harpo, Inc. The rest is daytime history. Today, Winfrey is worth a staggering $2.7 billion.
