It’s almost hard to remember back in the day when Johnny Depp made movies looking like… well, Johnny Depp. To say he’s gotten a little caught up in using makeup and costuming to create a character these days is quite the understatement. Matter of fact, Depp’s created one of the most eclectic rosters of over-the-top film characters of any actor working today, including his latest turn as Barnabas Collins, the '70s-era goth vampire, in Tim Burton’s big-screen adaptation of Dark Shadows. Edward Scissorhands was the first collaboration between director Tim Burton and the still fresh out of 21 Jump Street Depp. As Edward, the lonely patchwork boy created with scissors for hands, Depp shocked audiences with his wild, leather look and heartfelt performance. Audiences and critics admired Depp for being brave enough to subvert his good looks to truly become Edward Scissorhands.
