Jack Kemp—Legacy
Once his days of tackling grown men were over, Kemp decided to tackle American politics. In 1970, he ran successfully for Congress, where he remained for 18 years, until he resigned to run for the Super Bowl of offices: President of the United States. And while Kemp lost to George Bush Sr., the matchup would not be his last; in 1996, Sen. Bob Dole picked Kemp as his presidential running mate on the Republican ticket.
