The future Mr. Bond spent part of his childhood in Liverpool, England, where visits to the Liverpool Everyman Theatre inspired the young thespian. He was accepted into the National Youth Theatre (NYT) troop at age 16. He moved to London and was soon waiting on tables while picking up various theater roles. During this time, he also slept on park benches when cash was limited.
