"Vada. I'm embalming my high school teacher. Don't sing." That line, from the trailer for My Girl (1991), was the first hint that this movie was destined to become a classic. My Girl belongs to the pre-grunge '90s, when sincerity was still more common than irony. Yes, the film was set in the summer of 1972. But now that we're in 2011, doesn't 1991 feel like a more innocent time? It's been 20 years since My Girl charmed us all into submission. Where have all the actors gone? Let's find out. Peter Michael Goetz (Dr. Welty)
Peter Michael Goetz is also one of those actors you think you’ve seen before, and you’re probably correct. In My Girl, Goetz played Dr. Welty, who was tasked with frequently informing Vada that she was not, in fact, dying from various ailments such as an imaginary chicken bone stuck in her throat, nor does she possess a prostate.
