The first line that pops into our head when we think of Smash Mouth is “Hey now, you’re a rock star, get your game on, get paid!” This could be Smash Mouth’s motto. They entered the music biz as more of a ska-punk band, but some critics believe they sold out and went mainstream pop-rock. But, hey, they are rock stars, and man did they get paid! The band formed in 1994 in San Jose, California, and have collectively sold over 10 million albums worldwide, due in part to their success on the airwaves but also to millions of kids bopping around to “All Star” and “I’m a Believer” from the Shrek movie franchise.
