While young Oprah was gifted academically—she could read and write before the age of 3—she was also quite popular. Here we see her when she was literally voted “Most Popular” while still at East Nashville High School. She was also active in her school’s public speaking classes, which enabled the future political mover and shaker to meet with President Richard Nixon while still in high school.
