Before They Were Stars
HOT GALLERY: Like Father, Like Son—Guess These Sporty Father/Son Combos Before They Were Stars
"I'm gonna be like you, dad..." Harry Chapin wasn't singing about father and son athletes in his classic tune "Cat's in the Cradle", but he could have been. The song wouldn't have been quite so ironic, though. Most fathers would love to see their sons follow in their footsteps, especially if those footsteps lead to the field of professional sports. Here are some of our favorite father and son athlete combos. By Brett Singer

Bob and Aaron Boone (MLB)—Now
We will now read from The Book of Boone. (Note: we just made that up). Major League Baseball player and manager Bob Boone, son of Major League Baseball player Ray Boone, begat both Bret Boone and Aaron Boone, both of whom became professional baseball players. Why should we only show a picture of Aaron? No disrespect to Bret (or Ray, who is no longer with us), but Aaron Boone became part of New York Yankees baseball history when he shocked the Boston Red Sox with a walk off home run in Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS. Bret Boone was even in the broadcast booth when his brother blasted the ball out of the park.
