It’s been 14 seasons since Kelly Clarkson was crowned the very first American Idol in the summer of 2002, and alumni of the show have gone on to win Oscars (Jennifer Hudson), Grammys (Carrie Underwood), American Music Awards (Chris Daughtry), and more. Tamyra Gray: Life After Idol
After releasing her first solo album, The Dreamer, in 2004, Gray has written and recorded music with Idol alums such as Kelly Clarkson and Fantasia Barrino. She has also dabbled in acting, and was in Jonathan Demme’s Rachel Getting Married, starring Anne Hathaway. She married Color Me Bad singer Sam Watters in 2006 and gave birth to her first child, daughter Sienna Marie, in 2010.
