John Mayer and Jennifer Love Hewitt, 2002
Hewitt has long been considered the inspiration for Mayer’s hit “Your Body Is a Wonderland.” However, on VH1 Storytellers, Mayer said the song was written about his first girlfriend when he was 14 years old. Plus, Room for Squares was released in 2001, and Hewitt and Mayer didn’t date until 2002. Hewitt, however, has a great sense of humor about the rumors, telling EW, “My body is far from a wonderland. My body is more like a pawnshop. There’s a lot of interesting things put together, and if you look closely you’d probably be excited, but at first glance, not so much.”
