"Vada. I'm embalming my high school teacher. Don't sing." That line, from the trailer for My Girl (1991), was the first hint that this movie was destined to become a classic. My Girl belongs to the pre-grunge '90s, when sincerity was still more common than irony. Yes, the film was set in the summer of 1972. But now that we're in 2011, doesn't 1991 feel like a more innocent time? It's been 20 years since My Girl charmed us all into submission. Where have all the actors gone? Let's find out. Richard Masur (Phil Sultenfuss)
Richard Masur is one of those actors you see and say, “hey, I know him. He was in that movie/TV show…” One of those movies is My Girl. Masur played Vada’s uncle, Phil Sultenfuss. This screencap immortalizes one of his great lines from the film: “Your father’s a savage.”
