You may have heard of him—at 18, Justin Bieber is one of the biggest names in the biz (Forbes recently listed him at Number 2 in its Highest-Paid Stars Under 30, behind only Taylor Swift). A good Canadian, Bieber enjoyed hockey and other sports as a kid, in addition to instruments like the piano and guitar. He was signed after his self-posted YouTube videos became a smash success. He remains a YouTube mainstay; his single “Baby” has 750 million views(!) and counting. Bieber—who, in addition to being nominated as Choice Male Artist: Music, will also be performing during the show—sees himself following in the tradition of R&B and soul music as well as current hip-hop and pop. Asked by Rolling Stone readers whom he would most want to do a song with, dead or alive, Bieber responded, “Michael Jackson… or Tupac.”
