Dim-witted Deputy Dewey was such comic relief, and so inept on the job, he appeared to be an easy target for the savvy killers. But he managed to come through by the skin of his teeth, charming the audience and at least one costar, as he caught the attention of both Gale Weathers and her portrayer, Courteney Cox.
