Can’t get enough procedurals with acronyms and colons up the yin-yang? Well Adult Swim’s got a show that’ll blow the CSI‘s and NCIS‘s out of the water. Are you ready for NTSF:SD:SUV? Try to break that down. It stands for National Terrorism Strike Force: San Diego: Sports Utility Vehicle. Because, after all, if you’re gonna strike down some terrorists in San Diego, you better have some badass SUVs to back you up.
Paul Scheer—who you may remember as the evil head page Donny on 30 Rock—created and stars in NTSF as the show’s lead ass-kicker, Trent. Paul sat down with Snakkle at Comic-Con to discuss the idea behind the crime show spoof’s title, how they managed to snag such an incredible cast (Rebecca Romijn, Kate Mulgrew, Martin Starr!) and guest stars (Jeff Goldblum, Jerry O’Connell, Gabrielle Union, Adam Scott, JK Simmons!) and tells about the first moment he felt he made it in the biz. It is hilariously classic.
NTSF:SD:SUV airs Thursdays at 12:15am on Adult Swim.
