Looking Back
Pretty in Pink 25th Anniversary
The films of John Hughes are iconic for all the right reasons. His writing captured young people with honesty and compassion, whether they were rich, poor, cool, goofy, or some crazy '80s combination. Set in the pre-iPod/cellphone era, these films depict a more innocent time, albeit one in which leg warmers were stylish. "Pretty in Pink" (1986) is Hughes and (first time!) director Howard Deutch at their best. By Brett Singer
