Already famous for their live shows, in 2004 The Flaming Lips made history and by launching their lead singer, Wayne Coyne, into the crowd inside of a giant, man-sized plastic bubble. He crowd surfed his way into the unofficial Coachella hall of fame and The Flaming Lips has been associated with the signature bubble ever since.
