Al Pacino’s Academy Award-winning role as Frank Slade as the abrasive, blind and alcoholic Colonel is a memorable one. He may be blind, but Frank can see a lot more than some, and he won’t hesitate to say so (including expletives)! Charlie keeps at eye on the sometimes-suicidal Frank, who ends up becoming more of a mentor than a job to Charlie. You may remember the scene in which Frank gives him some sage advice about woman and then proceeds to lead Donna in a perfect tango on the dance floor.
