Sugar Ray was still going strong when lead singer McGrath decided he wanted to try out life as a TV host. He was brought on as a host for the popular entertainment show Extra in September 2004 and left in 2008 to return to music. His latest TV gigs have included hosting Don’t Forget the Lyrics in 2010 and a stint on The Celebrity Apprentice (You know, the Gary Busey season?) in March 2011 (he lasted six weeks before hearing “You’re fired!”). McGrath joined Sugar Ray during the Summerland 2012 tour alongside other ’90s hitmakers like the Gin Blossoms and Everclear.
